Lahaina Printsellers Art Contest

Lahaina Printsellers is proud to host regular juried art exhibitions in our Lahaina Gallery,
providing opportunities for local Hawai‘i artists and photographers to showcase their work to the many visitors and residents of Maui who are passionate about collecting and celebrating art. 

February Theme

“Makai”

Our second juried exhibition will highlight artwork that celebrates the
captivating ocean that surrounds out island. This is a broad theme and only requirements are the ocean must be featured in some way. This must be a new painting completed within the last 6 months.

Awards

  • 1st Place

    $300 cash prize. The winning Art piece will be represented as a Giclee for 1 year with a 10% commissions paid to the artist!

  • 2nd Place

    $100 cash prize. 1 Free day of choice to paint at onsite Gallery Artist Studio.

  • Participation

    50% off voucher for 1 day rental at onsite Gallery Artist Studio.

Dates to Remember

  • Opening Reception: February 13th, 4–7 pm. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded during the reception.

  • Exhibit Dates: February 13th – March 15th

  • Submission Deadline: February 6th, 11 pm HST

Deadline: All images must be uploaded by Tuesday, February 6th, 2026 at 11:00 pm HST.

Details of Entry

  • Accepted work will be on display and for sale from February 13 – March 15, 2026. All artwork must remain in the show until the closing date.
  • If sold, Lahaina Printsellers retains a 30% commission. Sales will be processed by Lahaina Printsellers, with payments issued 30 days after the close of the exhibition.

Artists will have 10 days to pick up unsold work, no later than March 24th, 2026.

Notifications & Artwork Delivery

Accepted artists will be notified by email no later than February 8th, 2026. Accepted works must be delivered to Lahaina Printsellers Gallery no later than February 11th. Late deliveries will not be included in the exhibition. If you do not receive an acceptance email, your work was not selected.

Preparing Your Artwork

All accepted pieces must be exhibition-ready:

  • Hanging: Wired and ready to hang.
  • Presentation: Professionally presented (framed or gallery-wrapped,). Works not suitable for professional display may be declined.
  • Labeling: Each piece must include on the back:
  1. Title of artwork
  2. Size (unframed)
  3. Medium
  4. Price
  5. All works should bear the artist’s signature.
