The poet Mary Oliver’s advice on instructions for living a life: “Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.”   This is what Laurie Miller believes she was called to do as an artist, to look for the magic in a sunset, a wave  crashing, a surfer ready to find the perfect set; to fully experience and be wowed, and then to  tell those stories through her artwork.    The “why” in her paintings is to reconnect people to their dreams and cherished memories. Adept with  oils and pastels she uses them to awaken the senses, and evoke the sentiments of how people want to feel or  how they felt about being in a particular place, such as the beautiful island of Maui. What are  the colors and textures they envision, what gives them that sense of awe and wonder? Her focus is on  the simplicity of her surroundings to artistically express the essence of the moment. 

Inspired by so many things including the expressions on a strangers face, the reflections on the water in Venice Italy, the shadows and the glows dancing through ancient cities, the magical singing shades of New Orleans, the long, open winding roads in Kaupo Maui - and the love of life - Melissa continues to follow her soul with Line and Color. She's experienced life moving around and growing while watching the world outside and feeling the world inside of her. Because of this, she considers all of her paintings to be Self Portraits as she has spent a lot of time reflecting & her art is intensely impacted by this introspection.

Canvas for Framing

Lahaina Printsellers prints all of our canvas on 100% cotton canvas using archival inks. We hand-coat all of our canvas ensuring that it is water-proof and uv protected.

Due to the coating, when you frame this canvas you do not need glass . We also suggest having the framer mount these on foamcore board to save cost and for the best viewing experience.

Mirrored Canvas for Gallery Wrap - Rolled in a Tube

Take a good look at your print; it may look a bit unusual near the edges. We print an extra 2 inches of reflected “mirrored” borders, to ensure that when it is stretched, the finished product does not lose any of the
actual art! This allows you to choose stretcher bar frames in a variety of thickness between 1.5”- 2” deep with your framer.

If you have purchased non-mirrored canvas and wrap it, you may lose important parts of the art, such as signatures. Typically we suggest framing artwork 20”x24” and smaller, rather than stretching it as a gallery wrap.

Any framer/craft store, should be familiar with Gallery Wraps. For the best results, we recommend they use 1 1/2” stretcher bars with a slightly rounded inner edge.

If you need art for your home or condo in Maui, we offer full service ready to hang gallery wraps for all of our canvas. We build the frames and stretch in-house in any size we offer. each art piece is printed with 2" mirrored borders then stretched over a 1.5" thick gallery wrap stretcher bar. all gallery wraps come with hanging wire. If you are unable to pick-up please contact us for delivery services.

Dye Infused Aluminum

Dye sublimation printing is a high-end process where specially formulated
inks are heated until they transition directly from solid to gas and become
permanently embedded into a specially coated sheet of aluminum.

This creates vibrant, full-color images with exceptional durability that
won’t peel, crack or fade like conventional surface-applied prints.

All of our Dye-infused aluminum artwork comes with a backing dependent on it's size.

We choose the best frame for your size

  • 20"x30" and smaller

    The small aluminum Hanger floats your print ½" off the wall. For prints with a dimension of 16'' or larger, the Hanger is reinforced with a black ½" thick, high quality, Gator Board foam backer. 

  • 24"x36-30"x45" range

    The Gallery Mount is a very economical but elegant solution to hanging your metal print. The Gallery Mount is made from aluminum channels recessed in from the edge of the print by 1½". It floats your print off the wall by ¾" creating a very contemporary look. The Gallery Mount comes with a hanging wire attached so that your print is ready to hang right out of the box.

  • All larger sizes

    The Flush Mount adds a distinctive finished look to your metal print. The frame is 1.3" thick and comes in black brush anodized aluminum.


    A hanging wire is pre-installed so your print can be hung right out of the box. Easy-to-use security T-lock system can be used with this frame to anchor your artwork to the wall using a lock and key. 

    This frame ensures maximum structural stability and hanging options.

Glossy Aluminum

Our most popular surface that provides maximum impact. vivid color, sharp detail, and brilliant contrast that shines from any angle.

Ideal for photography with blues, oranges or red color themes. Dark rooms really benefit the added luminosity provided by the glossy finish.
